Nelly Confesses Love for Bridezillas Reality Show

The rapper talks upcoming projects, kooky brides and more.

St. Louis rap star Nelly recently made an appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and gave the public an update on the happenings of his life. The rapper discussed running his local trade school that teaches kids how to be producers and engineers in the music industry, along with his new reality show produced by Queen Latifah called The Next where he will help YouTube stars and emerging talent get their big break. If that’s not enough to keep him busy, he also has a new album, entitled M.O, which will be released later this year.

However, the Midwest artist also confessed to having a vice for reality television, and cited Bridezillas as one of his favorites. He insisted that he didn’t begin watching the show on his own, but now he’s wrapped up in the drama.

“I kind of got caught up watching Bridezillas,” said the hip hop entrepreneur. “I ain’t gonna front. It wasn’t my idea; it started out as somebody else’s idea and I was watching with them and before I knew it I was watching by myself.”

There’s been some speculation whether or not Nelly’s Bridezillas TV partner is Ashanti, his rumored girlfriend of 8 years. The two haven’t claimed each other or indicated that there are going to be wedding bells anytime soon. Yet, Nelly seems to have the wedding day process down to a science.

“First of all, weddings is what it is. I understand it’s her day. Men, we get told where to stand, she’ll be here when she get here. We don’t get a song. Nobody stands when we come down the aisle. They’re not waiting for us. I get it. To see that and see this pressure on all these women and watch them snap, it’s made for television to me,” Nelly explained.

Who would’ve thought that Bridezillas had the hip hop star as a fan? Nelly’s episode on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon aired on Tuesday night. If you missed it, click here.
