Gwyneth Paltrow is an Academy Award-winning actress known for her girl-next-door appeal and marriage to Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, but there is definitely a wild side to her that we sometimes get a glimpse of. It's no secret Paltrow and Martin are close friends with hip hop power couple Jay-Z and Beyoncé, pushing the actress further into the spotlight of the hip hop community. The Shakespeare in Love star, who performed with Cee Lo Green at the 2010 Grammys, recently confessed that she loves Rick Ross, causing a few to raise their eyebrows at her unexpected musical taste.
"Rick Ross puts me in a good mood," she said. "He just does."
Ross’ new album, God Forgives, I Don’t, debuted at #1 on iTunes and has been met with much acclaim. Gwyneth included the MMG founder on her music favorites list on Jay-Z’s Life+Times website. She also mentioned BET Music Matters artist Kendrick Lamar along with Frank Ocean as music stars who offer her audible treats.
"I could listen to the chorus of this song on a loop for an eternity," she said of Ocean’s "Thinking Bout You." "I think this album [Channel Orange] might be a masterpiece."
French Montana’s "Pop That," plus tracks from Drake and Lil’ Wayne also made her list. She seems to have a true affinity for contemporary hip hop and R&B music.
