Jordin Sparks is the latest celebrity to share her thoughts on the upcoming season of American Idol. The former Idol winner is backing Nicki Minaj as one of the show's potential judges, saying she would be a nice addition.

"I think Nicki would be great," Sparks told the New York Post. "It would be so fun to see what she does because she's so unpredictable. I met her the other day, she is so sweet."

The Pink Friday rapper is rumored to be signing a lucrative deal with the Fox show to judge the season's contestants. Known for her multiple personalities and immense success, Minaj would share the judging duties with already confirmed judge Mariah Carey and, potentially, country star Keith Urban, who is also reportedly in talks with show producers.

Sparks is also a fan of Urban and believes he would be another great Idol judge.

"I think it would be cool to bring somebody with a country flair who has that experience," said the Sparkle actress.

Fox has yet to announce that they've reached a deal with any of the potential judges. However, much speculation continues to brew around who will sit on the stage of the upcoming season. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
