Rihanna's 777 Tour Documentary to Release in May

Film to show the bumpy ride aboard Rih Rih's private plane.

Buckle up your safety belts and prepare for turbulence. Rihanna is ready for take-off.

At long last, Rih Rih joins the pop-star documentary trend by announcing a release date for her very own tour film, Rihanna 777. The film will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at Rih's whirlwind tour that covered seven shows in seven cities over seven days to promote her album Unapologetic. The singer invited 150 journalists and a handful of fans to join her on the voyage.

In typical Rihanna fashion, the publicity stunt wasn't without controversy. Her on-board guests raised a ruckus during the trip, which kicked off last November 14, because of uncomfortable conditions on the aircraft and lack of face-time with the star.

Despite the disruptions, which included a journalist streaking through the jet after it got delayed on the tarmac for hours in Berlin, the flight and all passengers landed safely in New York City, and the resulting press earned Rihanna a No. 1 opening for her album.

Rihanna's 777 will air May 6 on Fox.
