2 Chains Catches a Break in Weed Case

Rapper acquitted of Maryland drug charges.

Published April 25, 2013

2 Chainz fought the law and won. On Wednesday (April 24), the rapper was found not guilty of marijuana charges stemming from a bust in Maryland.

Talbot County District Court Judge William H. Adkins ruled that there was not enough evidence to charge the Grammy nominee, born Tauheed Epps, with possession.

Back in February, state troopers pulled over a van that 2 Chainz was riding in with six others. Authorities claimed to smell weed coming from the vehicle. A search turned up a marijuana grinder in a bag belonging to 2 Chainz.

Even though there were five others in the van, the 35-year-old was the only one arrested, and slapped with charges.

The hip hop star believes that being a celebrity put a target on his back, which may be true, since the arresting officers took a picture with him.

But he isn't the only one. TMZ reports that authorities in Sweden found weed and a taser on Justin Bieber's tour bus. The difference? No one will be charged in the Bieber incident because no one was on the bus at the time of the search.
