Danity Kane Plotting Reunion?

Girl group shuts Diddy out of new album plans.

Published May 14, 2013

After four years apart, Danity Kane has reportedly decided to reunite, and they're keeping Diddy out of the equation. The girl group was established by the hip hop mogul via his MTV show Making the Band in 2005. Aspiring singers from all over the country were put through a musical boot camp before whittling down the competition to five women.

Four of those five Aubrey O'Day, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richard and Aundrea Fimbres  had lunch in Los Angeles this past Monday (May 13) to discuss getting back together. A new manager was also at the meeting.

The group is reportedly plotting a new album and tour.

Shutting the Bad Boy front man out of their plans is likely the result of bad blood. In 2009, he fired everybody from DK, snatching up Richard for his short-lived music trio Dirty Money.

Even with plans to move forward sans their former boss, the women are likely still tied to him. The 43-year-old is responsible for finding the members, strengthening their talents, and turning DK into a house-hold name, which means that the foursome might have trouble getting over potential legal roadblocks.

2008 saw the release of the last DK album, Welcome to the Dollhouse. The project debuted atop the Billboard album charts, selling 546,790 copies in its first week and spawning hit singles "Damaged" and "Bad Girl."
