Khia Lashes Out at Beyoncé

Rapper accuses Bey of stealing from Lil Kim.

Published June 20, 2013

Khia ("My Neck, My Back") hasn't been on the scene in a while, but she knew just how to make a dramatic return to the news cycle to make up for lost time: use social media to call out one of music's biggest names.

The Southern rapper's target of choice this past Monday (Jun. 17) was Beyoncé, for as yet unexplained reasons, and she made the backlash even worse by specifically talking about Bey's most animated section of her fanbase and social media following, collectively referred to as the "BeyHive." Khia said Bey jacked Lil Kim's "beehive" moniker and made it her own. "I thought the "BeeHive" was @LilKim's team @Beyonce... Hmmmmm... you will never give up the stealing will you, sis..."

And as expected, the BeyHive hit back, but Khia wasn't shaken. "You don't like the way I do it but I do it ANYWAYYYYY!!! #gotmef---edup."

She also tweeted her phone number and email address for booking inquries.

Claiming to be "promoting the truth one day at a time," Khia ended her side of the BeyHive battle with, "I've already read @Beyonce and her #weaveworshippers from sea to shining sea so theres nothing more to discuss.. #thedeedisdone," and then adding, "The Queen has spoken!!"

Bey has been accussed of borrowing from other artsits without asking time and time again. The Grammy winner's visually stunning Billboard Music Awards performance in 2011 was exposed for pulling elements from Italian pop star Lorella Cuccarini. "My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much,” she later explained.

After extinguishing that mini-scandal, the 31-year-old was slammed for snatching Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker's routine for her "Countdown" music video. "Clearly, the ballet 'Rosas danst Rosas' [choreographed by Keersmaeker] was one of many references for my video 'Countdown,'" she pointed out. "It was one of the inspirations used to bring the feel and look of the song to life.”
In Khia's case, she hasn't given an ounce of energy to her claims.
