Katy Perry is the new cover girl for Elle UK, and inside she's opened up about her longtime friendship with Rihanna, which has been recent tabloid fodder. "I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I'm reminded of the light that she has," Perry said.
"There's a lot of dark in this business," Perry continued. "I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages — they are the root of their demise. It's really unfortunate, but you can't save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over."
Apparently Perry had to play Captain Save-a-Celeb after two of her actor friends, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison (both of Twilight), broke up. Perry was photographed with just Pattison, and felt the need to clear things up with Stewart. "I sent her a text message saying, 'I know you've seen all this stuff, but you know I would never disrespect you. I'm not that person.'"
She also had to save herself when she tweeted that Chief Keef's "I Hate Being Sober" made her "have some serious doubts about the world." Keef gave some serious backlash and Perry responded, "Mr. Keef! I'm sorry if I offended you ... I was really just having a general opinion on our generation's desire to be constantly intoxicated."
On the other side of the Rihanna/Perry friendship, Rih Rih was reportedly there for Perry when she divorced Russell Brand.
