Some raucous Rihanna fans welcomed her to her Adelaide, Australia, show with a healthy dose of booing. The singer was 80 minutes late for her Diamonds World Tour performance in the capital city, reports Billboard.
"Adelaide, what the f--k!?" she yelled to the crowd once the mix of cheers and jeers subsided to just the former. "I'm finally here. You know, it takes me forever to get back to Australia every time," she explained. "I can't do that s--t no more, Adelaide," she added. "But I'm finally here, and I finally remember how crazy my Aussie fans are."
Rih has encountered booing before on this tour. In Boston — a make-up show for one she canceled early on due to a bout with laryngitis — the Unapologetic singer showed up at 10:30 p.m. for her 9 p.m. start time. Fans were extra agitated because A$AP Rocky, who was scheduled to open for her, missed the show entirely due to his own illness.
She's also set an outstanding record on the tour, as the youngest artist — and one of the the few black artists — to headline Stade de France, an 80,000+ capacity arena counted as the sixth largest in all of Europe.
The jaunt continues today in Melbourne, Australia before moving on to Syndey; Auckland, New Zealand; and Johannesburg, South Africa, among many other places (including her homeland of Barbados). She wraps stateside on Nov. 15 in New Orleans.
