Iggy Azalea scrapped three out of four shows she was scheduled to open on the Australian leg of Beyoncé's The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, Complex reports. Scheduling conflicts with VEVO forced the cancellations.
Azalea confirmed the news Wednesday (Oct. 16), tweeting, "Hey guys just to clear any confusion I am coming to AUS for the Beyonce tour, but due to an earlier commitment we made with vevo I can only do the last sydney date of the sydney shows. I am very sorry, we tried to work it out."
The Aussie rapstress promised to "arrange something" so that she can meet her Sydney fans. "I will let you all know shortly what/when etc," she wrote, adding, "I will be doing a sideshow in Melbourne on the 25th."
Azalea, originally scheduled for 17-dates with Bey, was excited to go on the tour. "I met her [Beyoncé] at Chime for Change, which was a Gucci charity event I did in England with her [and] that she invited me to do," she told Billboard at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. "After which, I did a few shows here in New York at the Bowery and she sent some of her people down to check out what they thought of my show. Apparently she liked it and they called up the next day and said, 'Do you want to come on tour?' I had to keep it secret for so long, almost six weeks. I was just dying! I'm so excited to go on tour with her, so excited!"
Kiwi singer Stan Walker will replace Azalea on Oct. 31, Nov. 1, and Nov. 2. Walker is also taking over the New Zealand shows Azalea pulled out of last month.
