Waka Flocka Flame Apologizes to Oprah Winfrey

Rapper expresses regret for calling Winfrey an "ugly b---h."

Waka Flocka Flame now realizes how words can hurt others, the "No Hands" rapper says in an apology to Oprah Winfrey.

Waka issued a public statement to the media mogul after old footage of him calling her an "ugly b---h" and referencing the 59-year-old billionaire in a sexual manner leaked online this week.

"I feel obligated to take responsibility for my actions and publicly apologize to Oprah," he tells TMZ. "My remarks about you were both extremely unnecessary and disrespectful. This regretful situation made me look at women and how I address them in a more responsible way."

He goes on to state that mom/manager Debrah Antney was "disgusted" by the clip and helped him in realizing the mistake.

Radar Online was first to publish the 21-second video in which another male can be heard saying that Winfrey has a "million dollar p---y."

Oprah hasn't responded to the controversy, but this isn't the first time that Waka has pondered the effects of disrespectful wordplay. He tackled the issue with Hot 97's Angie Martinez last summer, explaining how his young step-daughter inspired him to tone things down.

"That’s why I don’t like degrading women, though," he told the radio personality. "If I degrade women, she's gonna grow up and listen to that. If I make it cool to degrade women, she gon' be like ‘Damn, my n---a could degrade me.'"
