After another successful Summer Jam (their 20th anniversary show, to be exact), famed New York radio station Hot 97 has announced plans to bring some heat to help combat those February temperatures with Light It Up!, a concert featuring one TDE rhymer and one electric lady.

ScHoolBoy Q, repping for TDE, and Janelle Monáe, repping for the ArchAndroids, are scheduled to headline the event, which is set to take place at the Hammerstein Ballroon on Feb. 1.

Superproducer/DJ Just Blaze will also be a part of the lineup. Surprise guests are expected.

The setting is a big stage for Q, whose long awaited debut album Oxymoron is set to drop in early 2014. He's become one of the year's most buzzed about rappers after releasing the hit single "Collard Greens" featuring his Top Dawg brethren, Kendrick Lamar; and his most recent, "Man of the Year," which is featured on NBA Live 14, and is ironically titled considering the drama surrounding a certain GQ article.

Q's also aready picked up a Grammy nod, earning one for his work on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's The Heist.

Monáe, whose live show is often compared to that of Prince, is on her second studio album, and has been working big stages all through 2013, including the iTunes Festival in London, the Global Citizens Festival alongside Stevie Wonder, and as a guest on Saturday Night Live!

"I live for this: connecting with you and giving you a one of a kind concert experience," she said in November, after having to slow down a bit for some vocal rest.

Her critically acclaimed album Electric Lady was released in September. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
