Kendrick Lamar Confirms Lil Wayne Collaboration

Will K-Dot make it on Tha Carter V?

Published November 19, 2014

Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne got in the studio and knocked out a collaboration that could very well be featured on Tha Carter V.

King Kendrick confirmed the project during a visit to Power 106 radio station’s The Liftoff with Justin Credible and J Cruz, but didn't reveal where it will land. “Am I on Tha Carter V? Um, I wouldn’t know,” he said speaking to the recording process in which artists file a bunch of songs and then narrow down the selection for the final album.

So far, Weezy hasn’t let out word that Lamar’s guest spot will be added to the official track list. “I don’t know if it’ll be on Tha Carter V or if it’ll be a leak, but I’ve always been a fan of Wayne so wherever it goes it’s all love with me. I’m just honored to work with bro, he’s always been an influential cat coming up.”

Lamar touched on his own album during the interview as well, particularly the pace that he's taking in recording, and the inspiration behind his new single, “i.”
