Another passing of the torch is imminent on the Billboard charts. Nicki Minaj has tied Madonna's and Dionne Warwick's record for most singles on the Hot 100 chart, the music trade publication reports. The trio are tied for third place at 56 singles each. They are surpassed only by Taylor Swift, in second place with 66 singles, and Aretha Franklin, who leads with 73.
The news comes just weeks after Nicki's YMCMB label mate Drake also hit a Billboard milestone, passing the Beatles on the Hot 100 of all time list.
Today's artists have a little bit of an easier time racking up the charting singles, however, given the frequency of collaborations and guest appearances. Still, congrats are in order for the "Anaconda" rapper, who has seen her career hit new heights this year.
