Just before midnight Ciara sneakily released her new single, "I Bet," an ode to the process of getting over a lost love.
In 2014, Ciara was engaged to rapper Future and then the relationship silently ended. Around the time that it was evident that her now ex-fiancé was no longer in the picture, she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Future Zahir Wilburn. So, with a huge year behind her, her evolution as a woman has contributed to her recent recording experiences.
On the hook of "I Bet" she sings, "I bet you start loving me/ As soon as I start loving someone else/ Somebody better than you/ I bet you start needing me/ As soon as you see me with someone else/ Somebody other than you."
Ciara told Billboard that she believes that the song overall will be important to a lot of people — and based on how candid the song is, she's probably right.
Aside from her also telling Billboard that this is her favorite album and musical experience thus far, she revealed the album title, #JACKIE, this morning on Twitter.
"I Named My Album #JACKIE After My Mom Because I Can Now See The World Through Her Eyes," she tweeted.
As of now there is no release date for the new album.
