Azealia Banks is now following in the footsteps of her arch nemesis Iggy Azalea and is quitting Twitter, but only for a while. Making the announcement via the social network, like the "Fancy" rapper did, Banks is doing it all in the name of Lent.

"I missed the beginning of Lent but better late than never," she tweeted on Monday. "I'm going off tweets until April 2nd!! My management will tweet AB news."

Fans of the controversially outspoken rapper need not worry, as she will still be active on other social media networks. "I will still be on Instagram. But I need to give my mind a break," she followed up.

Twitter would be rather drama-free without the "212" rapper's opinionated posts. To date, she has raked up more than 14,000 tweets, with a large number of those involving her many spats with other artists. Some of them include Action Bronson, Lupe Fiasco, Kendrick Lamar, her seemingly career-long feud with Iggy Azalea, and, most recent, Erykah Badu.

Banks, who released her debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste, last year, recently announced a short tour in support of the LP, which kicks off on April 10 at the Coachella Festival in Indio, Calif. is your #1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
