Prince, 3rdEyeGirl Announce Impromptu Detroit Show
Prince is ready to get crazy with Detroit. The rock icon has announced an impromptu show in Motor City set for this coming Thursday.
The concert brings Prince back for the first time in 11 years to a city he once called his second home. This time, the Purple One will take the stage with his all-female band 3rdEyeGirl and Judith Hill, who was featured in the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Feet From Stardom. Prince also co-produced Hill's debut album Back in Time.
Detroit will be the second stop of Prince's 2015 HitNRun Tour, which continues the "surprise show" model he used in Europe last year. Each show is being announced one by one, just days ahead of time. The U.S. run started last month in Louisville, where he played four shows in two nights. A portion of show proceeds will go to local charities.
Late last year, the legendary musician released two chart-topping albums, ART OFFICIAL AGE, a solo album that debuted at #1 on the R&B chart, and PLECTRUMELECTRUM, the debut album from Prince & 3rdEyeGirl, which debuted at No. 1 on the Rock chart.
Details for Thursday's Detroit show will be announced on Monday. Keep an eye out for Prince to hit your hometown in the coming months.
