Meek Mill wants to make sure he gets the last laugh.
After days of staying silent, Meek responded to Drake’s two diss tracks (“Charged Up,” “Back to Back”) with “Wanna Know.” Produced by Jahlil Beats and Swizz Beatz, the Philly rapper didn’t live up to expectations of what was seen in his battle rapping days, igniting mixed responses on Twitter and tons of hilarious memes. But Meek isn’t done yet.
Earlier today, he took to Instagram to address Drake’s authenticity. In some cases, it’s a big deal for a rapper to not write his own rhymes, while others will probably gloss it over and still listen to them. Meek believes the current state of hip hop is so messed up that rappers like Drake can get away with having ghostwriters.
With OVO Fest taking place this weekend, it’ll be interesting to see if Drake responds to Meek again. Otherwise, it seems like Drake might’ve won this beef.
