PRhyme, the collaborative project of DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’ 9,” has a gem on it called “Microphone Preem” that features all the members of Slaughterhouse.

Although it’s not officially part two of “Microphone,” it's close. Each member bodies their verse like the original. Today, PRhyme released the official lyric video of the song, which takes the interface of Netflix and changes it into a PRhyme streaming service.

Now, it’s pretty cool to learn the lyrics, but Slaughterhouse has a lot of layers to their rhymes. So, Joell Ortiz, Royce and KXNG CROOKED (formerly Crooked I) annotated some of their lyrics with Genius.

Here are some highlights:

I'm tryna murder the microphone, I'm tryna murder the microphone / If you are what you eat, how come I'm not p***y?, That was part uno, this is part two though.

KXNG CROOKED: "I think it was Royce’s idea to set it up in the spirit of a“Microphone” part 2. I think I just brought that line back from the original. If I remember correctly, Royce was like, 'That’s dope. I think everybody should bring a line back too.'"

This the difference between y'all n****s and real rap.

Royce Da 5’ 9”: "I don’t know why I made this the first line. The very first line in my raps  hen I’m doing a song  and the hook, they always comes to me immediately.

"I damn near can hear it. So I don’t even know if the line was super planned out. I just pulled up the beat. Coming off of Crook’s verse, he murdered it, so that inspired the s**t out of me."

“The nerve of anyone who ain't heard of / The gang that don't tweet simultaneous for the sake of the servers”

Joell Ortiz: "I was just talking about the power and influence of the group. When we’re all on social media together and the people see us interacting, it almost breaks the Internet lol. SlaughterHouse fans are CRAZY!!"
