If you haven’t been keeping up with the beef, here’s what we know so far. Wale spoke on Meek Mill’s feud with Drake on The Breakfast Club and agreed with everyone else that he lost. “I honestly think he brought a pencil to a gunfight,” he said. “He ain’t even bring a knife…a pencil, a piece of paper [and] tried to paper-cut him to death.”
Meek wasn’t going to let that one slide. In fact, these two have been going head to head on social media as early as July 2014 because Wale didn’t show support for Dreams Worth More Than Money. Sound familiar? The hashtag #UNOTMMG was created to add insult to injury.
On Instagram, Meek’s other favorite social media platform to vent his frustrations, he called out Wale again. To sum up, he pretty much told him he’s not MMG anymore and that he’s a broke rapper. He also wants him to keep his emotional music to himself: “We don’t wanna hear you no more Fam!”
Since then, Wale responded on Twitter in a clever way by showing his tattoo of the MMG logo, brushing off any negative energy before his show in Atlanta. Rick Ross was in attendance and shared an Instagram video of people going nuts. “Tonight @Wale tore down as @DJKhaled would say ‘Another One’!!! Never question THE EMPIRE #MMG.”
Despite Maybach Music’s internal beef, the crew is preparing their next compilation project, Self-Made Vol. 4. Wale is reportedly the executive producer.
