If the creator of an online petition gets his way, it could actually happen. A commuter wants England’s Canterbury West Station to be renamed the Kanye West Station, and people are finally getting on board with his idea.
The petition hit a surge over the weekend, snatching up more than 1,000 signatures. It states that West is a “latter-day Moses,” and the “greatest human being of our time.”
“Moses brought Ten Commandments down from Mount Sinai," reads the petition. "Kanye (wealth be upon him) has already brought us six studio albums — with a seventh due out soon. (I admit I haven’t actually listened to any of his music, but that’s only because I consider my humble ears to be unworthy of such auditory genius.)"
It continues, "Sadly, Kanye (wealth be upon him) has been not always been afforded the respect he deserves. We cannot undo past wrongs such as retroactively giving Taylor Swift’s Grammy Award to Beyoncé any more than we can save Jesus from crucifixion (although technically God kind of took care of that), but we can show our appreciation in other ways, and what better start than renaming Canterbury West Station to Kanye West Station?”
The shade factor is pretty obvious throughout.
Never mind that the infamous Swift run-in was during the MTV Video Music Awards (not the Grammys), this petition is more of a jab at Ye’s persona.
