This is Why Rihanna's ANTI Album Isn't Done Yet

We might have to wait awhile.

It’s been a minute since we’ve gotten an album from Rihanna, and now it seems like we may be waiting even longer.

Her forthcoming LP, ANTI, seemed to be in its final stages and ready for release soon. According to singer and collaborator Sia, the pop star R&B songstress isn’t even done choosing what songs will be on the project and may even need to do some more recording.

"The other night she came over and listened to half of 25 songs I played her because she's still looking for songs for her new album," she told Jo Whiley of BBC Radio 2. "She was there to listen to songs and see if there was anything that she was into. It was a business meeting for sure. She took four [songs] but I don't know if they'll end up [on the album]."

What’s strange about the whole situation is that the promotion has been so stayed that the album’s website has been created and a tour for it has already been planned. Hopefully all of this only means Ri’s perfectionism is kicking in, making the over three years of waiting worth it.

Rihanna’s last album release was 2012’s Unapologetic. Prior to that, fans could expect an LP release almost annually from RiRi, who dropped projects every year from 2005-2012 (except for 2008). is your No. 1 source for Black celebrity news, photos, exclusive videos and all the latest in the world of hip hop and R&B music.
