Kanye West's Waves Album Title Has A Max B Problem

Wiz Khalifa has a problem with the forthcoming album's title.

Max B is a revered figure in the hip hop community and anytime one bites in any way (even if it’s unintentional) it gets people mad.

That’s what a lot of folks are saying now with Kanye West’s forthcoming album title Waves. ‘Ye changed the title of his album from SWISH to Waves just yesterday and it has people, perhaps most notably Wiz Khalifa, upset.

“Please don’t take the wave,” Khalifa tweeted shortly after Kanye’s album title change announcement. “Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him.”

“Wave” refers to Max B’s wavy melodic style. Wiz then replied Kanye’s Twitter response to criticism for the title by saying “yeah aight.” He also went on to reflect on how influential the former Jim Jones signee was to his career. “He’s the reason I sing on all my songs,” he wrote. “That’s the wave. If theres nothing wit that sound ITS NOT WAVY.”

Kanye released the tracklisting for Waves earlier this week. It contains 10 songs, including a few of which we’ve already heard. The album is slated for release on February 11.
