In the wake of this morning’s terrorist attacks in Brussels, Mariah Carey has been warned to think twice about going through with her scheduled performance this weekend on Sunday, March 27.
The singer, who will turn 45 this weekend, has an upcoming concert in Brussels to celebrate her birthday and her recent engagement to billionaire James Packer.
According to TMZ, Carey’s security team is “strongly against” the show due to the bombings that occurred earlier today (March 22) on a metro stop and at the city’s international airport. The attacks resulted in 30 people dying and more than 200 injured.
Would ISIS have their eyes on a Mariah Carey concert?
According to her security, there are multiple reasons why a performance of hers could be a target this specific weekend, besides her fame alone. Carey’s team is also worried about airports closing as a result of the attacks, which could prevent the superstar from even arriving in the first place.
As reported by TMZ, no official call has been made as the singer is awaiting advice from the regional U.S. Embassy.
