BET BeyWatch: Today in the Countdown to a New Beyoncé Album

A daily (slightly obsessive) update on new music from you-know-who.

Published April 4, 2016

Today in BET BeyWatch: Writer Michael Arceneaux is a solid pop culture critic and a confirmed member of the BeyHive. (Please note, like Bey, Michael is from Houston, so we can safely assume that he has inside information.) This weekend, Michael wrote a piece for VH1 urging people to stop counting down to a possible Beyoncé album. Here is the question: Why? Why is Michael urging the BeyHive to stop looking for signs of a new album? There is only one answer: he’s been instructed by top-level Parkwood Entertainment executives to divert the attention of the BeyHive. We’re on to you, Michael. Nice try.

Last known Beyoncé sighting:
So far, there have been no confirmed Beyoncé sightings for the month of April. It is her eighth wedding anniversary, so she and Jay could possibly make an appearance on their way to celebrate.

Numerology Evaluation: TODAY IS APRIL 4. IT IS LITERALLY BEYONCÉ’S FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR. Do with that what you will.

Percentage Chance That New Album Will Drop Today: 25%. While it might seem too easy and predictable to drop new music on 4/4, it could also be a Jedi mind-trick. We think she may do it today. And then we think, no, she wouldn’t. Too easy. But then, she could want us to think that and then drop it anyway! Stay tuned. Refresh that girl’s Insta for the rest of the day.

Until tomorrow, this is #BET BeyWatch.
