Kanye West surprised Coachella on Friday night by joining A$AP Rocky on stage for a performance of his "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1," but things quickly went south when a technical malfunction derailed the set.

It all started off well. Yeezy appeared on stage to enthusiastic cheers from the audience, and a flurry of tweets announced his surprise visit to the rest of the world:

But mere minutes later, when Rocky wanted to do another duet with the iconic rapper, 'Ye's mic cut out and never came back to life. Video of the performance shows Yeezy struggling to be heard and Rocky getting so upset he throws down his own mic and storms off the stage:

We're sure heads were rolling in the aftermath. Unfortunately, what could have been the highlight of the festival turned into a huge disappointment.
