Published February 28, 2012

Pop legend Michael Jackson set the record for most Grammy wins in a single night when his album Thriller earned him eight awards. Thriller, released Nov. 30, 1982, spent 37 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the second-longest run in the top spot since 1956, when the chart became a weekly feature. Throughout his career of chart-topping hits and awe-inspiring performances, Jackson won a total of 13 Grammys. In 1993, Jackson was awarded the Grammy Legend Award and in 2010 the Recording Academy posthumously awarded him the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award.
