Ebony Magazine has announced that Managing Editor Terry Glover passed away on Christmas Eve after battling colon cancer. She died in her Bronzeville, Chicago, home at the age of 57.

"Terry was the heart and soul of the EBONY team. She was one of the best editors I've ever worked with, and had a lovely kind demeanor and a fabulous sense of humor. The EBONY team will feel her absence every single day," wrote Editor-in-Chief Amy DuBois Barnett.

Glover joined the EbonyJet team as a senior website editor in 2006 and later became the managing editor of Ebony in 2009. During her career, Glover worked for several publications, including Playboy, Savoy, Uptown and the Chicago Tribune.

She is survived by her husband, Kendall Glover, and two daughters. The Ebony team plans to print a memorial in its upcoming issue.
