Six months after his disappearance, the search for Isaac Winifred Danyus continues.
The 62-year-old was last seen by his family on Sept. 26, 2012 in Waukegan, Illinois. On that day, he was helping his brother make funeral arrangements for their sister. He had breakfast with his wife that morning but never returned home and did not attend his sister's funeral.
His family immediately became alarmed and said the disappearance was "unlike" him.
"He is a good family man. (no criminal record, faithful husband, working at same job for 34 years, married to same woman for 37 years, 3 children)," his brother Charles Danyus wrote in an e-mail.
He said he is determined to keep his brother's name in the media. "I accept the reality that the disappearance of small children or attractive young women draw more publicity than that of a senior Black family man."
Danyus' Chevrolet Blazer was found near an apartment complex where his son lived almost two years ago. The family went door-to-door with Danyus' photo to see if anyone knew his whereabouts and also in nearby woods, but they had no success.
Danyus is described as a Black male with salt-and-pepper hair, 5-feet 9-inches tall and 155 pounds. Anyone seeing Danyus is asked to contact their local police department or the Waukegan Police Department at (847) 599-2608.
