George Zimmerman's Attorneys Release New Photos

George Zimmerman's attorneys have released new photos in preparation for June trial in the killing of Trayvon Martin.

George Zimmerman's attorneys have released new photos showing evidence related to the night in which the neighborhood watch volunteer shot and killed unarmed teen Trayvon Martin.

Defense attorneys are preparing for the second-degree murder trial, which is scheduled to begin June 10.

The new photos were taken in August 2012 after they were analyzed and released from a Florida state crime lab, according to the Orlando Sentinel. These images include the bullet hole in Trayvon's hoodie from the night of the incident and also Zimmerman's gun.

Other previously released photos were taken after the shooting, including one of Zimmerman with a bloody nose.

Orlando Sentinel reports

Some of the photos appear to support Zimmerman's claim of self-defense. For example, photos taken at the Sanford police station that night after he's been cleaned up by paramedics show a cut across the bridge of his nose and several areas of redness — perhaps abrasions — on the back and sides of his head.

One of the right side of his head, shows six areas of discoloration.

But police close-ups of Zimmerman's hands show no evidence of cuts or scrapes, something you might expect on someone who had just been in a fight.

The photos are part of a set of evidence that defense attorneys late yesterday released to prosecutors, notifying them that they may be used at Zimmerman's trial, which is scheduled to begin June 10 in Sanford.

Among the new photos are two that show Zimmerman in cap and gown at a graduation ceremony at Seminole State College. School records show that although he went through the ceremony, he did not graduate because he failed an astronomy class in the fall of 2011.
