Demario Bailey, a 15-year-old boy, was shot and killed in a robbery in Chicago this past weekend, which ended with three deaths and 29 injured throughout the city.
Four suspects have been arrested in the shootings. The fourth suspect, Carlos Johnson, 17, was charged with first-degree murder, robbery and attempted robbery in the killing of Bailey Saturday, ABC News reports.
Demario was walking with his identical twin brother, Demacio, to basketball practice, when the suspects attempted to rob Demacio. When Demario defended his brother, the robber told him to give up his jacket and when he refused, he was shot. Johnson College Prep, the school that Bailey attended, has launched a crowd-funding site to raise money for the family.
Rolando Leon, 28, was struck by a bullet in the head Friday evening and pronounced dead at the scene, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Tyrece L. Stornes, 27, was struck in the chest and in the side by an attacker who was in a passing vehicle.
There have been 418 deaths due to gun violence in the Windy City in 2014, according to the Red Eye Chicago homicide tracker.
