El Chapo Found the Time for Cosmetic Surgery While On the Run

You'll never guess what he had "done."

It looks like El Chapo's found a way to make headlines yet again, but it's not for what you may think. After finding the time to orchestrate a biopic about himself and have a sit down interview with Sean Penn, the wanted drug kingpin has reportedly squeezed in some time to undergo surgery for erectile dysfunction.

You read that correctly. Business Insider reports that he underwent the operation between September and October 2015 which date back to three months following his escape from a maximum security prison. Reliable sources in Mexico's National Security Commission say that the only time El Chapo left his "comfort zone" in Sianola was to head over to Tijuana for the surgery.

The surgery, which required general anesthesia and even involved a testicular implant to improve his blood circulation, was apprently something serious. Following the operation, El Chapo also had a stash of drugs and medical materials. Journalist Carlos Loret, who was the first to describe the scene at the drug lord's final safe house, said Mexican authorities found "injectable testosterone, syringes, antibiotics, anti-inflamatories, and a prescription for more than 4,000 pesos in drugs to improve sexual performance."

To prove that the thirst is real — even when one is on the run — El Chapo reportedly had his very first meeting with Kate del Castillo, whom he had been flirting with for months via text, following his surgery.
