Daniel Holtzclaw Sentenced to 263 Years in Prison

Daniel Holtzclaw was sentenced to 263 years in prison for the rape of 13 Black women.

Former Oklahoma City officer Daniel Holtzclaw was sentenced to 263 years in prison for raping 13 Black women between 2013 and 2014. Additionally, a judge denied his motion for a new trial, according to NewsOK.com.

A jury found him guilty in December for the lewd acts. He sobbed in the courtroom upon hearing the news on his 29th birthday. The cop was found guilty on 18 of 36 counts.
The details of the assaults given by the victims are disturbing. Previously, a woman reported that Holtzclaw picked her up and took her to an abandoned area in Oklahoma City, ordering her to perform oral sex or she would be taken to jail, AP reports.

The youngest victim said that Holtzclaw groped her while searching for drugs. He then took things even further by removing her pants and raping her. Holtzclaw's attorney, Scott Adams, attempted to paint him as an upstanding officer during the trial.
