An old man from Ohio was sleeping on how quickly police would rush his home after they heard him snoring.

The 75-year-old suspect’s home was the center of a four-hour standoff after authorities received a call early Monday from a female resident, reporting gunshots before fleeing the Newark, N.J., home, according to the Associated Press.

Cops were on high alert with negotiators on hand trying to reach the elderly man, who was unresponsive after firing shots at a bed and wall, Newark Sgt. Clint Eskins said.

Turns out, the trigger-happy senior must have tired himself out because after authorities heard snoring they calmly entered the home and found him peacefully sleeping with his gun.

He was charged in municipal court with counts of inducing panic and using weapons while intoxicated, reports AP.

“As things can turn out, it was a very good ending,” Eskins added.
