Allison Anderwald, who is five years old, wins the internet today after video of her rescuing her mother Tracy from drowning went viral. Tracy had suffered a seizure while swimming in the family pool, and little Allison had the presence of mind to drag her mother to safety before running to get help.
The little girl’s heroic rescue was caught by surveillance footage from the family's security camera:

As seen in the video, Allison doesn’t run to get help until she ensures that her mother’s head is well above water. The video ends with Allison's sisters and aunt, Tedra Hunt, rushing out to remove Tracy from the water. “It’s amazing she even knew what to do,” Tracy said after being released from the hospital.
Doctors are trying to figure out what caused the seizure in the first place, but they are certain that if Tracy’s head had been underwater for just a minute longer she would have suffered irreparable brain damage, or death.
Thanks to her “tiny hero,” Anderwald has made a full recovery.
