From one moment to the next a life can be changed drastically.

One Chicago man unintentionally proved just that when he was smiling into the camera while live-streaming on Facebook and was suddenly shot multiple times.

The horrific incident was captured on live video and showed the unidentified man on the 5800 block of South Hoyne Avenue in Chicago’s South Side around 4:45 p.m. As he talked in front of a corner store shots rang out, causing him to drop the phone.

With the live-streaming still on, a gunman suddenly came into view and appeared to continue shooting the victim multiple times.

A moment of silence followed with the blue sky, white clouds and a stop sign visible. Shortly after people could be heard approaching and saying he had to be taken to a hospital. A woman screamed, “Oh my God, no … I can’t believe this!”

The victim was undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital as of Thursday night and was one of nine who were shot across the city that day. Two people were left dead in an unrelated shooting in what is shaping up to be the deadliest start to a year for Chicago in decades
