Willie Lee Bell Jr. allegedly molested a 6-year-old boy behind an apartment building in Texas, but was stopped when neighbors stepped in and assaulted him.
The un-ordained student pastor from First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill is accused of luring the kindergartner behind the building and told onlookers, who questioned what he was doing, that the boy had to pee.
“My child knows if he has to use the bathroom he’ll come up to the apartment to use the bathroom,” the boy’s mother said.
Bell Jr. was previously implicated in a February sexual assault of two children ages 6 and 7, who said they were molested by a man wearing “church shoes.”
“It’s painful. It’s devastating. It’s a nightmare,” the boy’s mom said, adding that she was grateful the witnesses intervened because “if it wasn’t for them he probably would’ve did more to my child.”
Dallas police arrested Bell and while his church said they would fully cooperate with the investigation they also indicated having no knowledge of any criminal acts he committed.
Bell lists himself as an Allstate Insurance agent, a pastor and “just a hard-working, ambitious, Black male,” on his Facebook page.
Additionally, he approached a local elementary school about setting up a mentorship program. The principal sent an email to parents saying the program was never put in place and Bell was never left alone with children.
