Gorilla-gate has taken over the internet this week and actually sparked some interesting conversations between parents and kids about how far some parents would be willing to go — or not go — to protect their beloved offspring from the grips of a "dangerous" primate. Some of the responses have been truly hilarious.
One man was pretty shocked by his mom's straightforward answer:
My mom loves me to DEATH! She'll do anything for me. Asked her what she'd do if I fell in a gorilla cage... pic.twitter.com/v7OQyJrbxj

Someone took it upon themselves to do some investigative journalism on what makes Black moms different from white moms.

One mom used it as an opportunity to question her daughter's habits.

Some had to resort to Snapchat filters to fully express their shock.

Even celebrities got in on the fun.
If I had told my mom I wanted to jump in the gorilla pit and she said no and then I still went in that gorilla pit I was getting a beating.

Some kids didn't even need to ask their parents what they would do. History predicts the future.

Some parents were just a bit too honest for their kids to handle.

So there you have it. You might want to ask your mom what she would do if you were to fall into a gorilla pen. Until then, it's probably smart not to go anywhere near a zoo with your mom or dad, just to be safe.
