After the devastating tragedies the have recently faced Black America, many are wondering what they can do to be part of a change. Well now it’s been proven that affecting change can take place by supporting Black-owned business. And this can be as easy as opening a new bank account.

Citizens Trust Bank is a Black-owned financial institution that has locations in Georgia and Alabama. After the mass protests against the killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, thousands flocked to open new accounts with Citizens Trust.

In fact, more than 8,000 people have switched to Citizens Trust Bank in the last five days. This is incredible news and the support for Black-owned businesses should not end here.

There are tons of Black-owned businesses that you can support today. The WhereU App has built a directory of thousands of businesses for you to put your money behind. You can also check out this list of 21 Black-owned businesses to support.

Hopefully, this monetary change will in some way affect the racial climate of our country.
