The first daughters of the United States have without a doubt accomplished more than the average teenager. The two have traveled the world, inspired young men and women to strive for the best education, and stood proud behind the most powerful man on the planet.

However, in the not-so-distant future, Malia and Sasha Obama will be bridesmaids for two of their parents’ former workers.

Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff, Kristen Jarvis, and President Barack Obama‘s former secret service agent Shaun West fell for each other while working at the White House. Now, the D.C. couple is set to wed, and they asked the youngest Obamas to serve as bridesmaids.

Although Jarvis was Michelle’s chief of staff, she starting working for the president in 2005 while he was still a senator. Because she has been with the family for so long, Jarvis began to develop an older-sister relationship with the girls.

When she announced the bridesmaids for her wedding party on her website, Jarvis detailed the extent of her relationship with the girls, particularly with Sasha.

“If you know me, you know my love for this chica right here,” Jarvis said. “I’ve known Sasha since she was three years old, and I couldn’t be more proud of the young woman she has become. She has had to endure more than most will in a lifetime, and she has handled life thus far with such grace and humility. Sasha and I have had a big sister/little sister relationship since the very beginning and there is nothing I wouldn’t do for this girl — and I know she would do the same for me. We’ve been thru so many ‘firsts’ together over the years, that I couldn’t imagine this ‘first’ for me without her. Love you lady and so glad to have you up there with me on my special day!!!!”
