A YouTube video from 2009 that only went viral this week was believed to be connected to the disappearance of then 15-year-old Kayla Berg. However, police just confirmed that there is no connection between the video and the missing teen.
After the video resurfaced, speculation began as to whether or not the video was connected to Berg. The clip, titled “Hi Walter! I got a new gf!,” shows a man open the door to the bathroom where a woman is tied up and begging for her life. When officials were made aware of the clip, Wisconsin police announced that they would be opening an investigation.
It was initially thought that the woman in the video had similar physical characteristics to Berg, yet after investigating, police determined the two in the video were actors and actresses. The man was identified to be a comedic actor who made several dark humor videos. The YouTube video has since been removed but can be seen via Buzzfeed here.
Berg originally went missing in 2009 when she was driven to a condemned house, thinking she was going to a friend’s house. Due to a miscommunication between herself and her parents, she was not reported missing until six days later.
Her whereabouts are still unknown.
