Worst Salon Trip Ever? This Hairstylist Pepper Sprayed a Client Who Was Unhappy With Her Cut

But the customer is always right.

A New Jersey hairstylist will make women everywhere think twice before claiming to be unsatisfied with her services. Maryam Simpson, 35, allegedly pepper sprayed a new client when she claimed she was unhappy with her hair.

Simpson posted ads on Craigslist — where she goes by “Freddy” — and was contacted by the unidentified woman. On October 13, Simpson traveled to the woman’s apartment in Bloomfield where she began to work on the woman’s hair.

At some point during the service the woman told Simpson that she was unhappy with her haircut and Simpson allegedly pepper sprayed the client in the face.

After the alleged assault, Simpson took off running. Police arrived shortly after and conducted a search for the stylist.

Bloomfield police arrested Simpson on October 24, said authorities. Simpson was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.

After her arrest, she posted bail — which was set at $35,000 — with a 10 percent option, reported NJ.com. No information about an arraignment has been made available yet.
