A Woodside High School school student was physically attacked at school for supporting Donald Trump.
Sophomore Jade Armenio told ABC 7 that was she approached by another student who accused her of being racist and then physically assaulted her.
"This girl comes up to me and she said, 'Do you hate Mexicans?' and I was like, 'no,' and she said, 'You support Trump. You hate Mexicans.'"
Jade was then beaten by the girl.
Jade believes the incident occurred because of an Instagram post she made on election night.
When Donald Trump was projected the winner, Jade took a screenshot of CNN’s announcement. Armenio says her friend, @slothy_loppy, commented, “Hell yeah, F Mexicans.”
Jade then responded to his comment, “One of the few things we can agree on slothy_ loppy."
“She’s got Mexican friends,” her mother, Gina Armenio, told KRON 4. “She’s got Black friends. We have them over. We do not have any issues. We’re not racist and have never been racist and nobody, nobody should beat somebody up because of that. So if that’s her reasoning, I’m appalled.”
"Woodside staff responded immediately to the incident. The incident was investigated in conjunction with law enforcement and appropriate disciplinary action has been taken."
