The reputed French designer took to Twitter to share an official statement explaining that while she does not like to share her own political views, she cannot be silent regarding her opposition to the extreme stances that the President-elect Donald Trump holds.
"I am well aware it is not wise to get involved in politics,” Theallet writes, "That said, as a family-owned company, our bottom line is not just about money. We value our artistic freedom and always humbly seek to contribute to a more humane, conscious and ethical way to create in this world."
Theallet is the first major designer to make her position known, and many have since decided to follow her lead and join her in boycotting dressing Mrs. Trump.
