An infant died as a result of a protest of a police involved shooting in Baltimore, said officials.
On Friday, Baltimore police shot an unidentified homeless man with a knife. After the shooting, a small group of protesters took to Greenmount Avenue.
-
During the protests, a group of about 30 people, including the baby's mother, approached Major Richard Gibson to inform him of an unresponsive infant.
-
Activist Duane G. Davis captured the moment after Major Gibson tried to save the baby.
-
The baby was later transported to a local hospital, where it was pronounced dead.
-
Although there are many tensions between the Baltimore police and the community, Major Gibson was labeled a hero for his attempt.
