Back in March, when the presidential campaigns were starting to heat up, Black activist Rakeem Jones was punched in the face by John McGraw, a Trump supporter, at a rally
McGraw, 79, was then charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct and communicating a threat.
On Wednesday, McGraw pleaded no contest in the courtroom, where Jones was also present. The defense team argued that the assault was not racially motivated, and McGraw offered a direct apology to Jones.

The two shared a moment in court where McGraw offered his hand in an apology
The judge sentenced McGraw to 12 months unsupervised probation.

Some are not satisfied with the apology or the low sentence for McGraw
-
While most people commend Jones for being an example for the entire country
-
However, Jones felt proud about what he did and said it wasn't done for applause it was done 'for us'
