Look: 'BLM Is the New KKK' White Nationalists and Trump Supporters Are Wrongfully Blaming Black Lives Matter for Chicago Torture Case

The case is causing a major Twitter debate on the hypocrisy of hate crimes.

Published January 5, 2017

  1. Chicago police have charged four people for the torturing of a mentally challenged young man
  2. Although the teens said 'F**k Trump' in the video, police have said the act was not a hate crime, just 'stupidity'
  3. Even Newt Gingrinch blamed the event on President Obama

"I think that there has been a dramatic rise in racial tension under President Obama and under the former attorney general. I think a lot of their language, a lot of their approach, heightened that sense of racial tension. And I think we have to oppose white racism, but we also have to oppose Black racism. And I think if this had been done to an African-American by four whites, every liberal in the country would be outraged and there would be no question but that it’s a hate crime," said Gingrich during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

  4. Eventually, the hashtag #BLMKidnapping started trending
  5. Which prompted many to condemn the racist act of automatically blaming Black Lives Matter without taking ownership of actual hate crimes
  6. Many assume this will be treated far harsher than the white athletes who used a hanger to assault a Black teammate who was mentally challenged

A white football player accused of raping a Black, mentally challenged teammate with a hanger received no jail time.

  7. Black Lives Matter Chicago has posted a statement to Facebook in which they said the tragic events should not be tied to their organization
  8. Additionally, well known Black Lives Matter Activists believe that #BLMKIdnapping is being used to further a white supremacy agenda
  9. As a result of all the attention the case has received, a false mugshot has been shared of one of the suspects

However, the woman pictured was not connected to the crime. Although, people online continue to share her image and call her Brittany Convington.
