  1. Today marked the first day of confirmation hearings for Donald Trump's Attorney General Nominee Jeff Sessions
  2. His initial entrance into the hearing was met by many protesters
  3. During the hearing, Senators questioned Sessions on his past and if he is fit to serve as head of the Justice Department
  4. In his opening remarks, Sessions claimed all allegations of racism were completely false – and twitter yelled, 'you lie!'
  5. Although the senators are meant to comb through Sessions's past to find discrepancies, many of them are appearing to take a light approach
  6. However, Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota came through with a clutch cross examination of Sessions's past with civil rights
  7. And people on Twitter bowed down
  8. If Sessions is confirmed, many expect more protests to occur
