Watch: 'I'm Also Much of a Germaphobe' – Donald Trump's Press Conference Used Smoke and Mirrors to Distract From the Truth

And people on Twitter are very, very afraid.

On Wednesday morning, the much-anticipated press conference for President-elect Donald Trump took place in Trump Tower.

After the news outlets reported that both President Obama and Donald Trump were given documents which allege that Russia has compromising information about the president-elect, many were hoping he would address the report.

However, instead of speaking to the dangers of Russian intelligence hacking U.S. information, Trump called it “fake news,” and then pivoted by saying that Hillary Clinton would do a worse job dealing with Putin than he would.

As the conference went on, it became very clear that this would be briefing of illusions.

  1. During the press conference, Trump skirted past questions about him engaging in indecent sexual acts in a Moscow Hotel
  2. Additionally, the president-elect also completely ignored questions about his tax returns
  3. The president-elect did offer one piece of substantial news about his appointment for the head of Veterans Affairs
  4. During a heated moment, Trump attacked Buzzfeed News and CNN
  5. He then refused to take a question from CNN's Jim Acosta

Although Buzzfeed News was the organization who published the "unverified" reports about Russia having compromising information about the President-elect, Trump also claimed that CNN was "fake news" for covering the report.

  6. While many reporters attempted to get to the bottom of Trump's relationship with Russia, his business dealings, and his plan for health care, it became clear he would not be giving a straight answer

At one point, Trump had his lawyer come to the stage and address the press for at least 10 minutes about his business dealings. From that, we learned that his sons, Eric and Donald, will be head of his company, while daughter Ivanka will no longer have ties to the company.

This moment seemed suspicious because it appeared that Donald Trump was not able to fully explain how he would appropriately handle the conflict of interest with his businesses; so, instead of talking to the people, he had his lawyer do it for him.

  7. People on Twitter reacted in real time during the press conference, and fear seemed to be the central theme of their tweets
  8. If there's one major takeaway from the President-elect's first press conference, it's that the Donald we saw on the campaign will most likely be that Donald we get in the White House
