Watch: Obama Surprised Our Favorite VP Joe Biden With The Presidential Medal Of Freedom And Now We're Ugly Crying Again

“I’m proud to award the presidential medal of distinction to my brother,” Obama announced while fighting back the tears.

Our favorite president and vice president ratcheted up their "bromance" even more today (January 12) as Barack surprisingly presented Joe with the nation’s highest honor a president can bestow upon a civilian.

“To know Joe Biden is to know that love without pretense, service without self-regard, and to live life fully,” the POTUS said while fighting back the tears. “I’m proud to award the presidential medal of distinction to my brother.”

Biden then turned around in disbelief before walking back to next to the president’s side. Prior to Obama placing the medal around his vice president’s neck, he spoke highly of his service, character, and legendary off-the-cuff remarks.

Biden remained teary eyed during the remainder of President Obama’s White House address. It was then his turn to take the podium, which he did with grace and appreciation for his commander in chief.

“I don’t deserve this. But I know it came from the president’s heart,” he said while looking at Obama. “Mr. President, I’m indebted to you. I’m indebted to your friendship. I’m indebted to your family. You know as long as there is breath in me, I’ll be there for you, my family will be there. I know it is reciprocal.”

Social media also let the waterworks fly. Some were crying in reaction to what transpired while others were more proud and happy for Barack Obama’s kindness. The president mentioned that the award presentation “gives the internet one last chance to talk about our bromance.”

Indeed, Mr. President. Indeed.
